Hi, I’m Jude Newlin (They/she)
Hi, folks! I’m Jude! I created our little dragon mascot, Leroy! I’m neurospicy and genderqueer, and absolutely any kind of gaming is my special interest. Games are my favorite way to spend time with others, and also my favorite way to spend time alone. My constant favorites are TTRPGs (D&D is my favorite), video games (especially of the cozy and/or colorful pew pew variety), and board games (Roll Player, Gloom, and Flip 7 are some favorites).
I’m a part of Roll for Wellness because I want to help create the kind of spaces I wish I’d had in the early stages of my mental health journey. My experience in looking for ways to engage socially as a neurodivergent person often lead me to resources meant to teach me how to cope in spaces created for neurotypical folks — but not many resources for spaces created for folks like me. Now, I get to help design those resources and bring those spaces into being!
Roll for Wellness allows me to lean into the things that bring me joy, and has helped to teach me I don’t have to feel guilty for making time for the things I love to do.
I’d love to help you lean in to the things that bring you joy, too! My goal is to make table top gaming feel more accessible to new players — or to anyone who wants to spend more time playing and less time planning. A lot of the coolest games out there — games like Dungeons and Dragons or Betrayal at House on the Hill — can feel intimidating to jump into if you’re trying to tackle the rulebook at home with a group of people who haven’t played before.
If you have a group of friends and a game you’d love to play, I will tackle the rulebook for you! (And if you don’t have a group of friends yet, we host free community events every month so you can make one!)
