Hi, Megan Ash (She/Her), MSW Intern
Hello, I am Megan! I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology at The University of West Georgia. I am now obtaining my Master of Social Work at The University of Georgia with a focus on substance use disorders. I am a neurodivergent, queer, polyamorous lover of animals and the arts. I use music, cinema (with an affinity for horror!), and art as tools to navigate and relate to this human experience. I can use this as a system to connect with you and your own journey, from a strengths-based approach.
My main focuses throughout my academic career have been in non-human animal behavior, religious trauma, sex and kink, substance use disorder, Bisexual+ issues, and human trafficking. I am also interested in how Autism and ADHD relate to histamine disorders and other chronic illnesses.
Oftentimes, those of us who live on the fringes of society are told how to feel, and we are sometimes left unsure how to honor our truths while in relation to others. My goal in pursuing a career in therapy lies within the process of individuals becoming confident in discovering their own intuitive solutions for healing and growth.
My specific professional goals in the future include working with individuals utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Pet-Assisted Therapy (PAT).
I look forward to being in community with you!
